New CODD Pick-up Amplifiers

Noise values for CODD amplifiers. January 2008

The amplifier noise levels where measured with an automated procedure based on the Y-method. Used the LN₂-cooled noise source and the HP8591 spectrum analyzer, both controlled by the 'noise' shell script. Noise was calculated from the raw data with the 'nform' program. This web page was produced from the measured data using the shell script 'nebify'.

The noise so measured systematically comes out a little worse than the noise derived from the dB values reported at the cursor (2MHz, 290pV/rtHz). I don't really understand why that is.
